Maria's talent as a dancer is much bigger than I could express in the expectations of humankind. The various ways to feel the world's pain within ourselves. As an educator, she is beautiful and she takes us mere mortals to uninhabited worlds. I thank her for being beautiful inside herself and on the outside. I thank her for showing me all the different ways to express feelings of love and to hold and keep inside my heart all that I can learn through dance. Dance isn't just reflections of life, dance is living life through movement.
Caruso's athletic artistry is a display of both beauty and power. She is an elegant warrior. Taking the audience on a journey through her phases of innocence, terror, doubt, sensuality, confidence and contentment is truly a momentous achievement. Her subtle gestures evolving in harmony with the dominant use of the space around her is an amazing display of the melody of expressions our bodies can portray.
Powerful. Phenomenal! The choreography, the dancer, everything about this transports you to places you would not expect. You feel the dancer's emotions as if they were your own. If you see one dance for the year, this should be it.

Maria Caruso's work always leaves an indelible impression of emotions. Her performance created an experience that invited the audience to be on that emotional journey. I am glad that I went. During these stressful times, the performance gave me personal justification that what I am feeling is real and is manifested by her articulation.
It was wonderfully made!!!! Maria told her whole life story on stage so gracefully. She was literally "killing me softly" Amazing. What a sensation to be so captivated by dance. I was in tears but then uplifted in believing I will rise. Thank you, Bravo, Bravo!!!!

Maria Angelica Caruso fills the stage with her presence as she dances her personal story. She choreographed her raw emotions to draw you into the experience. I felt every feeling flowing from one to the next with Martha Graham inspired transitions. It is a must see!

An amazing hour of a continuous solo dance. Tremendous variety of styles and techniques to explore five "acts" of a woman's life. The performance, like all good art, has left me thinking all morning after last night's performance about dance, life stories, and re-imagining the lines and movements great dancers can produce.
The performance did not let me down. Ms. Caruso, with well executed sweeps and twirls, illustrates the roadblocks to living like anger, lust and fear. It is the soul yearning to be free that it is expressed through the well sculpted self of Ms. Caruso.
I never saw anything just like this performance. Caruso kept me riveted to her moves and the emotions she expressed. It was theater through dance and especially poignant because it was my first live indoor theatrical experience since the beginning of the pandemic. Thank you Maria!

This was a really emotive performance. It touched on issues of frustration, serenity and ultimately growth. The artist really sinks a lot of energy into this performance. Overall I would recommend this performance to anyone who appreciates dance.

She was great! Thoughtful show filled with gorgeous dance and lots of emotional content - she spoke with those of us who hung out afterwards which was a delight too!
It was a most enjoyable experience on both an emotional and intellectual level. The artist provided mineral water and white wine as we entered the venue. The performance was extraordinary and original. Ms. Caruso engaged with the audience after the performance and answered questions. The program was printed on glossy stock and I noticed such care and attention to detail: She valued her audience's total experience and I felt it before, during and after the performance. I am seeing her tonight at another venue. Her dedication to dance and her audience is as rare and appreciated.
This multi-level of intensity show is earthbound, then catapulting into the stratosphere in emotional intensity... Not to be seen since The golden era... top-level, authentic movement. Put all that together with the solo show with "rock 'em sock em versatility.

Metamorphosis is an emotionally charged performance representing different segments of one woman's existential journey. Costuming is creatively used to show the transition between each segment. The talk back after added even more meaning to her powerful choreography

Stupendous! To be around good live high-quality dance that takes your heart away for the entire performance is extraordinary in any circumstances. Could bring a guest to share this experience because it lets me repeat this performance, it is exquisite and LIVE like live with a capital L!

Maria Caruso, whose dance work, Rearview Mirror, I also recently saw and enjoyed, is a creative choreographer and an extraordinary dancer. *Metamorphosis*, a solo dance work, is highly original in its conception and flawless in its execution. As I read the dance, it is the journey of a woman from almost cosmic innocence through various 'feeling phases' of her life. Maria also designed the costumes which are integral to the dance; they are beautiful, and 'work' for the several sections of the work (she changes costumes several times on stage). For the most part I also liked the new age-y music. The small theater worked well for the piece.
Enriching and visceral with emotion expressed in the fluid movements of the dancer. It was an amazing experience. I'd recommend anyone to watch this performance.

Fascinating and very creative interpretation of Metamorphosis. Definitely worth a trip to Actor's Temple to see an outstanding ballerina/dancer deliver a non-verbal, at times visceral, performance that requires no words for its interpretation. Riveting.

Metamorphosis was an exquisite display of physical prowess and emotional variance. Maria Caruso performed the work wonderfully, and kept us enthralled the entire time. The performance executed very simple ideas very well, and kept you guessing. I would have placed money on the red dress being the finale, but I was wrong. There was an enduring theme of transformation towards self-acceptance that was highlighted by wonderful vignettes of Caruso dancing with a silk (representing her skin and self). The performance was engaging from top to bottom, and I had a great time.
An incredibly impassioned dance done exquisitely more exciting than we had even anticipated wound up speaking to the dancer afterwards wonderful insight into what she does a must see.

This was an amazing, beautiful and fluid performance. There was no dialogue, only dance and music, so you were free to use your imagination to fill in the meaning of the movements and costume changes.
